We are expanding our team and are seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join us on a fixed-term contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Sustainability Consultant, you will oversee the effective management of our environmental permits, including discharge consents. You will also implement our permit review strategy, identifying pollution sources (including PFAS) and evaluating environmental impacts to engage with regulatory bodies.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Leading the execution of our Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) review strategy and conducting site assessments to identify potential pollution sources and determine necessary environmental monitoring. Coordinating required monitoring by collaborating with our contracted sampling and analysis providers; sharing monitoring plans with senior stakeholders, including regulatory agencies. Analyzing, conceptualizing, and visualizing water quality data. Additionally, assessing risks associated with existing discharges and liaising with regulatory bodies regarding permit obligations. Managing and maintaining the reporting of program delivery among Operations, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Continuously monitoring environmental performance metrics, compiling performance data, and generating reports for senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

To excel in this position, you should possess a solid understanding of Permitting Regulations (EPR) and demonstrate strong analytical skills in data interpretation and visualization. Relevant experience in environmental disciplines such as environmental chemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, or water management is essential.

Furthermore, proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and GIS software, such as ArcGIS, is required, along with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

A valid driving license is necessary as travel will be part of the role.
