KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Sustainability Consultant, you will play a crucial role in managing our environmental permits, including discharge consents. You will also oversee our permit review program, investigating pollution sources (including PFAS) and evaluating environmental impacts while collaborating with the Environment Agency (EA).

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Leading the execution of our Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) permit review program and conducting site assessments to identify potential pollution sources for necessary environmental monitoring.
Coordinating required monitoring by liaising with our contracted sampling and analysis providers; sharing monitoring program plans with senior stakeholders, including the EA. Analyzing, conceptualizing, and visualizing water quality data, as well as assessing risks associated with existing discharges and engaging with the EA regarding permit requirements.
Managing and maintaining reporting on program delivery between Operations, the Environment Agency, and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).
Actively tracking environmental performance metrics, compiling performance data, and preparing reports for senior leadership communication.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

To excel in this position, you should possess a solid understanding of Permitting Regulations (EPR) and demonstrate exceptional data analysis skills, including visualization and interpretation. Relevant experience in environmental fields such as environmental chemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, or water management is essential.

Additionally, proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and GIS software, such as ArcGIS, is required, along with strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

A valid driving license is necessary due to travel requirements.
