With strategically positioned facilities across the UK, there is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Quality Assurance Lead at their Lancashire facility.


Role Overview:

We are in search of a committed Quality Assurance Lead to oversee our site’s Quality Management System (QMS) and components of the Food Safety Plan. This role is crucial in maintaining our high standards and reinforcing our core values. The ideal candidate will guide the Quality team, ensuring adherence to customer, corporate, and regulatory quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the site Quality team, ensuring they possess the necessary skills, resources, and capabilities to meet team objectives.
  • Integrate all quality requirements from customers, the organization, and legislation into the QMS.
  • Conduct internal audits of systems to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the site Technical Manager to develop and sustain an effective QMS and Food Safety Plan.
  • Ensure the internal audit process effectively meets QMS requirements.
  • Actively participate in the site HACCP team.
  • Assist the site Technical Manager in managing technical KPIs.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support engagement with customer technical teams.
  • Assist in managing regulatory contacts, utilizing knowledge of food hygiene and standards legislation.
  • Help manage third-party accreditation requirements.
  • Enhance team performance, efficiency, and service levels while promoting employee engagement.
  • Foster the development of a future-ready employee skill set and flexibility.
  • Support trainee development to ensure a robust future workforce.
  • Ensure all products comply with Food Safety & Brand Integrity requirements as defined by high-profile customer standards and BRC regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in food production as a Quality Manager or Supervisor.
  • Ability to advocate for quality standards and lead by example.
  • Results-oriented with exceptional attention to detail and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Effective facilitator and motivator.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and committed to supporting others' development.
  • Strong people management and influencing abilities.
  • Accredited Food Hygiene and HACCP certification at a minimum level 3.

Highly Desirable:
  • Experience with BRC and TACCP/VACCP.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (essential for health & safety, traceability, management, and quality control).
