Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Baggage Services Team Lead to join our team at Red Handling UK on a full-time basis. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising all baggage tracing and reconciliation activities on night shifts, ensuring that our services meet and exceed the required standards of customer satisfaction, quality, and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate baggage tracing and reconciliation activities on night shifts, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of baggage handlers, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve baggage handling efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Collaborate with customer airlines and other stakeholders to resolve baggage-related issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Identify and report any operational issues or areas for improvement to management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer airlines and other stakeholders to ensure seamless baggage handling operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in baggage handling and reconciliation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in baggage handling and reconciliation, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to travel to the airport when public transport is unavailable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of baggage handling procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language.
  • Computer literate and willing to learn airline-specific computer systems.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures while applying a flexible approach when required.
  • Passionate about customer service and committed to delivering exceptional results.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team.
