Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Baggage Services Team Lead to join our team at Red Handling UK on a full-time basis. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising all baggage tracing and reconciliation activities on night shifts, ensuring that our services meet and exceed the required standards of customer satisfaction, quality, and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate baggage tracing and reconciliation activities on night shifts, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of baggage handlers, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve baggage handling efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Collaborate with customer airlines and other stakeholders to resolve baggage-related issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report any operational issues or concerns to management.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in baggage handling or a related field.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of baggage handling procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to travel to the airport when public transport is unavailable.
  • Computer literate and willing to learn airline-specific computer systems.

Working Conditions:

  • 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
