Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical leadership and management to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Assist the Sister/Charge Nurse in the establishment of an efficient working environment, making the most effective and efficient use of staff, supplies, and services.
- Coordinate the day-to-day management of the clinical area, delegating duties and care appropriately, while maintaining overall responsibility.
- Responsible for the assessment and subsequent ordering of bank and agency staff within the clinical area.
- Involved in the development, assessment, and implementation of guidelines, protocols, and pathways.
- Deputise for the Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence.
- Attend and participate in monthly departmental meetings and ward rounds in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Proven experience of managing a ward, including management of rotas, managing competencies, resources, and staff.
- Experience of teaching, assessing, and supervising others in a clinical setting.
- Ability to organise and plan own time and that of junior staff and learners.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
- Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information.
