About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Tenancy Manager to join our Housing Management Service at Brent Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social tenants or licensees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tenancies from initial application to tenancy end, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of tenancy management, including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour, and providing holistic support to tenants.
  • Work closely with services across the Council to ensure vulnerable tenants have access to necessary services and Brent's estates and homes are well-maintained, safe, and secure.
  • Uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing.

Requirements

  • Resilient individual with a great sense of humour, team spirit, and strong customer service skills with a focus on empathy and tenant satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of local authority statutory and support services related to housing, awareness of relevant housing legislation and welfare benefits, and excellent organisational and IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and take ownership of tenancies.
  • Commitment to making a difference and eager to learn and develop your career.
