About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team in Social Mobility and Student Success. As a Widening Participation Officer, you will play a key role in developing and delivering the Lancaster Access Programme (LAP), encouraging students from Widening Participation backgrounds to apply to Lancaster University as a first-choice destination for undergraduate study.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the Lancaster Access Programme (LAP) to encourage students from Widening Participation backgrounds to apply to Lancaster University.
  • Work with young people, teachers, and schools/colleges to develop and deliver the LAP.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders to achieve the programme's goals.
  • Manage projects and events to support the LAP's objectives.
  • Travel across the North West and occasionally further afield within the UK to deliver the programme.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people, teachers, and schools/colleges.

  • Capability and flexibility to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Willingness to travel across the North West and occasionally further afield within the UK.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time, indefinite role. We will also consider applications at 0.8 FTE. The role could be undertaken as a blended position with a mix of working remotely and working on campus, although solely working on campus is also an option.
