Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our Friends and Family Team as a Supervising Social Worker. This is a 12-month maternity cover position that will provide support and assessments of prospective foster carers.
The successful candidate will have excellent assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to represent the authority in undertaking timely assessments of friends and family. They will also be responsible for supporting newly approved carers in completing their training standards.
About the TeamThe Friends and Family Team is a busy and dynamic team that works to support the placement needs of children in Salford. We have a manager and two Assessment and Support Workers who undertake viability assessments, Regulation 24 assessments, and support to family and friend carers.
We also have six support workers across the service, two of whom are based in the Friends and Family Team. These workers provide streamlined support to carers and children, while two therapeutic social workers sit within the STARLAC team.
