Compensation:

As the Transport Operations General Manager, you will play a crucial role in formulating, developing, and executing a strategic account plan through your operational team, ensuring that the overall experience of the client and end-user customer is not only met but exceeded throughout the contract duration and beyond.

This position empowers every member of our team to pursue their personal and professional aspirations to a world-class standard, facilitated by Unipart's 'From Gate to Great' training and development initiative.

In your capacity as Transport Operations General Manager, you will assist the client in sustaining a competitive edge through its operational services in the short, medium, and long term.

You will be a prominent, engaging, and proficient leader of management teams, showcasing advanced commercial and negotiation skills within a Contract Logistics - Road Transport setting.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the transport contractual delivery, evolution, and development for the specific contract.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all client-specific transport contract-related interactions and collaborate with other Unipart Logistics functions and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
3. Oversee the operational management and delivery team.
4. Coordinate support from central transport functions and other internal cross-functional departments to enhance revenue and profitability.
5. Ensure compliance with contract terms and leverage current contract provisions to maximize margin quality wherever feasible.
6. Utilize best-in-class tools and methodologies to foster excellent customer relationships, placing the account plan at the core of our operations and ensuring that genuine value is derived from all formal processes that support customer engagement.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading a transport site or business with full P&L, commercial, and operational delivery, ideally within Contract Logistics.
- Comprehensive understanding of key commercial levers and influencers within a road transport business is essential.
- Strong grasp of road transport regulatory and legislative frameworks is essential.
- Qualification with a Transport Manager CPC is advantageous.
- Advanced commercial acumen is essential.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and commercial acumen are essential.
