Role Overview:

As the Transport Operations General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, developing, and executing a strategic account plan through your operational team, ensuring that both client and end-user experiences are not only met but exceeded throughout the duration of the contract and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Transport Operations General Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the delivery, evolution, and enhancement of transport contracts.
2. Serving as the principal contact for all client-specific transport contract interactions, coordinating with other Unipart Logistics functions and external partners to achieve objectives.
3. Overseeing the operational management and delivery team.
4. Collaborating with central transport functions and cross-functional departments to drive revenue and profit improvements.
5. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve gain share targets and optimize process efficiency.
6. Ensuring compliance with contract terms and leveraging current contract provisions to maximize margin quality.
7. Utilizing best-in-class tools and methodologies to foster excellent customer relationships, placing the account plan at the core of our operations and ensuring that genuine value is derived from all formal processes supporting customer engagement.

Candidate Profile:
We seek candidates with the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven track record in leading a transport site or business with full P&L responsibility, ideally within contract logistics.
- Comprehensive understanding of key commercial drivers and influencers in the road transport sector.
- Strong grasp of road transport regulatory and legislative frameworks.
- Qualification as a Transport Manager CPC is advantageous.
- Recognized health and safety qualification is a plus.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to cultivate effective business partnerships both internally and externally.
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
