About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Specialist to join our team at EDF. As an Occupational Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct health screenings and statutory health surveillance to assess employee fitness for work.
  • Administer pre-employment, random, and for-cause drug and alcohol tests for employees and contractors.
  • Provide guidance to management on employee fitness for duty after illness or injury and during rehabilitation.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and incidents as necessary.
  • Offer advice and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries for both EDF and contractor employees.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health clinical governance audits and processes.
  • Collaborate with the Occupational Health Administrator and support and mentor onsite Occupational Health Technicians.
  • Attend and contribute to local safety meetings and peer group meetings in the absence of the Occupational Health Administrator.
  • Support Mental Health First Aiders and participate in staff wellbeing initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must hold a Registered Nurse qualification with a preference for Occupational Health experience. You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and possess expertise in medical confidentiality, ethics, and accountability.

Audiometry, spirometry, skin surveillance, HAVs assessment, ECG, and vision screening are desirable, although training will be provided. A minimum requirement for an appropriate First Aid Qualification to Frec 3 standard is also necessary, with training available.
