Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Specialist to join our team at EDF. As an Occupational Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct health screenings and statutory health surveillance to ensure employees are fit for work.
  • Administer pre-employment, random, and for-cause drug and alcohol tests for employees and contractors.
  • Provide advice to management on fitness for duty after illness or injury and during rehabilitation.
  • Respond to incidents and medical emergencies as appropriate during normal working hours.
  • Offer advice and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries for both EDF and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health clinical governance audits and processes.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including the Occupational Health Advisor, to provide comprehensive support to employees.
  • Attend and contribute to local safety meetings and peer group meetings in the absence of the Occupational Health Advisor.
  • Support Mental Health First Aiders and participate in staff wellbeing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a preference for occupational health experience.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Expertise in medical confidentiality, ethics, and accountability.
  • Desirable skills include experience in chronic disease management, audiometry, spirometry, skin surveillance, HAVs assessment, ECG, and vision screening.
  • Minimum requirement for an appropriate First Aid Qualification to Frec 3 standard.
