Teaching Personnel is in search of a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to contribute to an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary educational institution. This full-time role is focused on providing essential support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role within the school's support framework, collaborating closely with students who require additional assistance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Individualized Student Support: Delivering customized assistance to students with SEN, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum. This may involve working directly with students or in small groups, modifying educational materials, and applying specific techniques to cater to individual learning requirements.
  • Classroom Support: Aiding educators in lesson delivery, ensuring that all students, especially those with SEN, can participate fully. You will contribute to creating an inclusive educational atmosphere where every learner feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Progress Monitoring: Maintaining comprehensive records of student development, providing insights to teachers, and assisting in the formulation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Your observations will be instrumental in tracking student success and identifying areas needing further support.
  • Behavioral Management: Assisting in the management of classroom behavior by implementing agreed strategies and interventions. You will strive to create a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning for students with SEN.
  • Emotional and Social Support: Providing pastoral care to students, helping them navigate emotional or social challenges that may affect their educational experience. You will be pivotal in promoting the overall wellbeing of students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with children or young individuals, ideally within an educational context.
  • A sincere commitment to supporting students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a constructive approach to engaging with students with diverse needs.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of teaching professionals.

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students with additional needs.
