Graduate Teaching Assistant in Psychology

Position Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Psychology, you will be instrumental in enhancing the educational experience for students, especially those facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This role is perfect for individuals with a psychology degree who are eager to gain practical experience in the educational field, especially those contemplating a career in teaching or educational psychology. Your duties will encompass:

  • Student Support: Collaborate closely with students requiring additional assistance, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. Your knowledge of psychological concepts will be vital in fostering their academic and emotional growth.
  • Classroom Assistance: Aid teachers in delivering engaging lessons, preparing educational materials, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students needing extra help.
  • Behavioral Guidance: Utilize your understanding of psychology to help manage classroom behavior and cultivate a positive learning atmosphere, contributing to the overall wellbeing of the students.

All salary rates mentioned will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
