Graduate Teaching Assistant – Educational Support

Teaching Personnel is in search of a dedicated and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to contribute to a secondary school recognized for its quality education. This full-time role is designed for individuals eager to gain practical experience in an educational setting.

Position Summary:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to enhance the educational experience for students across various subjects. This position is perfect for recent graduates contemplating a future in teaching and wishing to acquire significant classroom exposure.

Key Duties:

  • Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with educators to facilitate lessons by offering focused support to students, ensuring they grasp and engage with the curriculum. You will work with small groups or individual learners who may require additional academic assistance.
  • Support Sessions: Conduct or assist in specialized sessions aimed at students needing extra academic help, particularly in fundamental subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science. These sessions aim to enhance students' confidence and academic success.
  • Material Preparation: Aid in the development of classroom resources and materials, ensuring educators have the necessary tools to conduct effective lessons. You may also participate in creating displays that highlight students' achievements and enrich the learning atmosphere.
  • Classroom Management: Assist the teacher in fostering a constructive and effective classroom environment by helping to manage student behavior. You will implement strategies to promote positive conduct and address any challenges that may arise.
  • Individualized Support: Offer tailored assistance to students with specific needs, facilitating their access to the curriculum and encouraging full participation in school activities. This may involve working with students who have special educational requirements or those needing extra support to keep pace with their classmates.
  • Monitoring Progress: Help track and document student progress, providing valuable feedback to educators and participating in discussions about the best ways to support each learner. You will help identify areas where students may need further assistance and collaborate with the teacher to address these needs.
  • Extracurricular Engagement: Connect with students outside the classroom by helping to organize and support extracurricular initiatives, such as clubs, sports, or school events. This is an excellent opportunity to build relationships with students and contribute to the wider school community.
