Position Overview

Residential Child Care Worker - Therapeutic Children's Home

Compensation: £11.90 per hour plus £60 for sleep-in shifts (2 on, 4 off schedule)

Location: Southport, Lancashire

Exceptional Care is looking for dedicated individuals to assist young people on a 1:1 or 2:1 staffing basis within a residential environment in Southport.

About Exceptional Care

Exceptional Care is a specialized service dedicated to providing care and support for children and young people aged 8-17 who come from complex backgrounds and exhibit challenging behaviors. As an independent social care organization, we operate multiple residential units throughout the North West.

We prioritize consistency in care for children and young people with complex needs, fostering strong communicative relationships with each individual.

Our Approach

We utilize a systemic therapeutic framework to nurture and support our children, grounded in attachment theory and trauma-informed practices. We are currently implementing a comprehensive assessment and outcome monitoring framework based on the Secure Base Model.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent – or willingness to pursue
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting young people in a residential setting
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence - preferred

Your Role as a Residential Child Care Worker:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the lives of children and young people, addressing their practical, physical, and emotional needs while ensuring their safety at all times.

You will deliver high-quality care and support in a professional manner to vulnerable young individuals facing challenging behaviors and emotional difficulties.

Building trust through positive relationships with both children and external agencies will be key to your success.

As part of a collaborative team, you will help create a nurturing and stable environment that promotes positive outcomes and enriching experiences for each young person.
