Position Overview

Residential Child Care Worker - Therapeutic Children's Home

Compensation: £11.90 per hour plus £60 sleep-in rate (2 on 4 off shift pattern)

Location: Southport, Lancashire

Exceptional Care is looking for dedicated individuals to provide support to young people in a residential environment, working on a 1:1 or 2:1 staffing ratio.

About Exceptional Care

Exceptional Care is a specialized service offering care and support to children and adolescents aged 8-17, who come from complex backgrounds and exhibit challenging behaviors. As an independent social care organization, we operate multiple residential units throughout the North West.

We prioritize consistency in care for children and young people with complex needs, fostering strong communicative relationships to ensure their well-being.

Our Approach

We utilize a systemic therapeutic model rooted in attachment theory and trauma-informed practices. Our current initiatives include a comprehensive framework for assessment and outcome monitoring, guided by the Secure Base Model.

Role Responsibilities

As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will:

  • Make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people, addressing their practical, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Provide high-quality care and support to vulnerable individuals facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Establish trusting relationships with children and young people, as well as collaborate with external agencies.
  • Contribute to a team environment that promotes a loving and stable atmosphere, facilitating positive outcomes and enriching experiences for each young person.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent – or a willingness to pursue this qualification
  • At least one year of experience in a children's residential setting
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence - preferred
