Contracts Manager/Repairs Manager - Social Housing

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Contracts Manager to join our team at Howells Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of supervisors and tradespeople, ensuring a high-quality and commercially focused service is delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of supervisors and tradespeople to deliver a high-quality and commercially focused service.
  • Ensure the efficient management of reactive repairs and maintenance of properties, meeting required housing and quality standards.
  • Maximize resident satisfaction and contribute to business performance and financial strength.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for responding to complaints and enquiries from members and customers.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, clients, contractors, and residents.
  • Deal with escalations of complaints, including disrepairs and Environmental Health Notices.
  • Manage a maintenance budget and authorize spends up to agreed levels, maximizing cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with governance and adherence to statutory and regulatory provisions, including health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of contracts management and procurement.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and build effective relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage budgets and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory and regulatory provisions, including health and safety.
