Position Overview

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine is renowned for its excellence in both academic and clinical nuclear medicine. Our facility is dedicated to providing a comprehensive nuclear medicine service, conducting a significant number of studies annually for patients referred from various healthcare institutions. In addition to a diverse clinical workload, we maintain a robust internal research program recognized internationally. Our collaborations extend to local and external researchers, contributing to the Trust's funded programs for translational research and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join a well-established team of clinical scientists, providing essential scientific and technical support within this leading department. The team comprises experienced professionals, including Band 7 and Band 8a clinical scientists, who will offer guidance to help the new team member acclimate to this role.

The post-holder will engage in a wide array of clinical and research activities, with comprehensive training provided on both equipment support and radionuclide therapy support. Opportunities for service development will also be available. This position offers a unique chance to enhance your expertise as a clinical scientist in nuclear medicine at a prestigious center known for its innovative techniques in molecular radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging. We actively encourage our clinical scientists to pursue professional development, including MPE portfolio submissions, with dedicated time and peer support.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • A strong academic background in a Physical Science or equivalent
  • A Master's degree in medical and radiation physics
  • Completion of STP training or equivalent certification
  • Registration as a Clinical Scientist

Desirable Qualifications

  • Corporate Membership of a Professional Institute
  • Membership in a National or International Professional Association
  • A PhD in a relevant field
