The Nuclear Medicine division is actively seeking to onboard a Junior Nuclear Medicine Specialist to join one of the leading NHS Trusts in the country. This role is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills and advance within the field, starting at an entry-level position and progressing as competencies are achieved.

The department is equipped with advanced technology, including multiple SPECT-CT systems and a cutting-edge PET-CT scanner. Our team also provides essential services for oncology and operates a comprehensive Radiopharmacy department, ensuring a robust support system for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to deliver technical assistance in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting both imaging and non-imaging patient assessments.
  • Administering radioactive doses through various methods (intravenous, oral, or inhalation).
  • Managing radioactive materials, including ordering and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ensuring quality control and maintaining accurate records of radioactive waste.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with national regulations and standards related to nuclear medicine.
  • Understanding of the significance of healthcare science and nuclear medicine in patient treatment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Proficiency in administering IV injections and performing venipuncture.
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine scanning and processing protocols.
  • Experience with gamma camera quality control.

  • State Registration with HCPC or similar professional body.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • IV Cannulation Certification.
