Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a radiographer/technologist eager to contribute to an innovative imaging service. Our imaging directorate is undergoing significant changes, with a strong emphasis on innovation and excellence.

We are looking for a radiographer/technologist who is passionate about working at our institution, surrounded by colleagues who prioritize patient care and are dedicated to personal and organizational growth.

This role is designed for individuals who wish to expand their expertise in nuclear medicine within our esteemed institution.

We conduct a diverse array of nuclear medicine imaging and procedures for both pediatric and adult patients. If you are ready to take the next step, you will receive comprehensive support and training in the specialized field of nuclear medicine.

Responsibilities Include:

Clinical Duties:

  • Execute standard imaging and non-imaging Nuclear Medicine procedures with efficiency and adherence to the highest quality standards for both pediatric and adult patients.
  • Administer radioactive doses, manage radioactive materials, and procure radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Conduct image processing and quality assurance tests, maintaining accurate records of radioactive waste.
  • Perform all clinical tasks in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and departmental protocols.
  • Ensure that all patients receive optimal care and participate in on-call and standby rotations as necessary.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required for the role.

Communication:

  • Engage effectively with colleagues through verbal, electronic, and written communication.
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with patients and team members.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless operations within the department.
  • Report and document equipment malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting routine issues.

Quality Assurance:

  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures based on evidence-based practices.

Professional Development:

  • Assist in the training of junior staff and student radiographers, serving as a role model.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Experience in performing departmental quality assurance and a variety of Nuclear Medicine examinations.

Desirable:

  • HCPC registration as a Radiographer.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine.
  • At least one year of experience in Nuclear Medicine in the UK, particularly in SPECT CT.
