About the Role

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As an Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services across our three sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake non-imaging and imaging patient investigations, including radioactive dose administration and handling of radioactive sources.
  • Order and dispense radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring quality assurance and storage of radioactive waste.
  • Contribute to audits and record-keeping, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to prioritize tasks and manage workload, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

Requirements

  • 3 years' post-qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine, with expertise in gamma cameras, associated equipment, and handling radioactive materials.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine scanning protocols and computer/keyboard skills.
  • Ability to give IV injections and carry out venipuncture.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine processing protocols and gamma camera QC.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • PET CT experience.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a busy environment, organizing staff resources when acting as deputy to lead radiographer.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn, undertaking training as required.
