About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Technologist to join our multi-disciplinary team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, including DEXA imaging, cardiac stressing, and image evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform Routine Nuclear Medicine Procedures: You will be required to perform routine Nuclear Medicine procedures without direct supervision, in a timely and accurate manner, with due regard to the Health and Safety of self, staff, and patients.
  2. Operate Departmental Equipment: You will be expected to operate all hardware and software used in the department, ensuring that all images are of the highest diagnostic quality possible and that they are presented for reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
  3. Administer Diagnostic Radiopharmaceuticals: You will be responsible for the routine administration of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals and will undertake phlebotomy and laboratory skills as required.
  4. Assist in Quality Assurance: You will assist in the quality assurance of all relevant equipment, ensuring that it is functioning correctly and that any issues are reported and addressed promptly.
  5. Participate in Waste Monitoring and Storage: You will work in accordance with all legislation and departmental policies during exposure to sealed and unsealed radioactive material, blood samples, and other hazardous waste.
Education and Professional Development
  1. Continuing Professional Development: You will take responsibility for continuing professional development, liaising with the Education, Workforce & Professional Development Lead and Chief Technologist for advice, guidance, and allocation of appropriate resources for training and development.
  2. Post-Graduate Training: You will undertake post-graduate training as and when appropriate, to enhance your skills and knowledge in Nuclear Medicine.
  3. Training and Supervision: You will assist students undertaking the clinical competency program and will assist in the training and supervision of other students in the department.
  4. Research and Development: You will participate, under supervision, in Research and Development studies being carried out in the department.
Management
  1. Workload Management: You will take responsibility for individual workload in liaison with all Nuclear Medicine staff, to facilitate all aspects of the patient's investigation and equipment usage.
  2. Enquiries and Service Delivery: You will participate in routine enquiries, ensuring the delivery of an effective and responsive Nuclear Medicine service.
