Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at one of the country's largest NHS Trusts. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services across our three sites.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support to Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services, including the undertaking of non-imaging and imaging patient investigations, radioactive dose administration, and handling of radioactive sources.
  • Ordering, dispensing, and quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, as well as storage of radioactive waste and audits.
  • Working closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of our services, including prioritizing work in a busy environment and organizing staff resources when acting as deputy to the lead radiographer.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years of post-qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine, using gamma cameras, associated equipment, and handling radioactive materials.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine scanning protocols and computer/keyboard skills.
  • Ability to give IV injections and carry out venipuncture.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine processing protocols and gamma camera QC.
Desirable Criteria

The following skills and qualifications are desirable:

  • PET CT experience.
  • Ability to contribute to development projects and prioritize and manage own work.
  • State Registration - HPC or Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists (IPEM).
