Job Summary:

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resettlement Support Officer to join its Refugee & Asylum Seeker team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the integration of refugees and asylum seekers in the borough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individual support plans for households or families, providing advice, support, and signposting to help them adjust to life in the UK.
  • Maintain and update databases containing confidential and sensitive information on refugees and asylum seekers, ensuring accuracy and relevant checks and information monitoring.
  • Manage the web-based case management system, the Foundry, and maintain effective procedures and auditable record-keeping in line with the Council's Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote community links and integration, and ensure existing services and mainstream provisions are accessed.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people, assessing need, and documenting support.
  • Understanding of immigration and Refugee Resettlement programmes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Good knowledge of Data Protection/Confidentiality, safeguarding policies, and procedures such as Child Protection, Safeguarding Adults, and MARAC.
  • A flexible approach and ability to work across the borough of Cheshire West and Chester.
