Position: Financial Accountant

Location: Hybrid Role

Employment Type: Part-time

The Financial Accountant is essential in overseeing the financial activities of our global recruitment organization. This position encompasses standard accounting duties such as generating financial statements, managing ledger entries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising accounts payable and receivable. Furthermore, the Financial Accountant will be tasked with calculating and processing commissions for our recruitment consultants and research personnel, guaranteeing precise and prompt payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and uphold precise financial documentation and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.
  • Administer and reconcile the general ledger.
  • Calculate and distribute central expenses to each subsidiary.
  • Oversee and execute accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, coordinating with external accountants as necessary.
  • Reconcile items within banking and financial systems, ensuring correct allocation to the appropriate subsidiary.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and budgets with input from senior management as required.
  • Compile payroll data for payroll service providers and secure senior management approval.
  • Calculate and process commissions for recruitment consultants based on performance metrics and company policies.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely distribution of commissions and bonuses.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of commission structures, calculations, advances, and payouts.
  • Analyze financial data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.
  • Establish necessary financial processes and ensure adherence to financial controls.
  • Stay updated on relevant finance and tax laws and regulations.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed. Perform any other tasks reasonably requested by senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent prestigious qualification.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CIMA, ACA).
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting, ideally within the recruitment or staffing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and experience in financial modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
