Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join our newly established Occupational Health Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting health and wellbeing at work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality occupational health nursing services to our caregivers and managers, conducting case management, screening, and clinical requirements for the business.
  • Deliver mixed clinics, including new starter employment screens, health surveillance, and health assessments, as well as telephone assessments.
  • Support the Occupational Health Nurse Specialist in the delivery of all OH services and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Contribute to safe working practices across the OH team.
  • Conduct health assessments within agreed service standards, policies, and procedures, and NMC guidelines.
  • Manage health records, ensuring safe storage, security, and confidentiality of all OH records.
  • Produce management reports as required.
  • Actively promote fitness for work, both preventative and rehabilitative, raising the profile of OH amongst all levels of caregivers and management.
  • Provide advice, assessment, and intervention with vaccinations and screening of caregivers as indicated by their occupational exposure, as per departmental policy.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health.
  • Immunisations and phlebotomy training.
  • Valid NMC registration with no restrictions.
  • Minimum of 12 months up-to-date postgraduate UK-based work experience in occupational health.
  • Experience in providing occupational health in a similar sector.
  • The post holder will demonstrate experience and competence in case management and providing advice in relation to work on health and health on work.
  • Experience in carrying out vaccination clinics.
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and guidance on fitness for work and safety at work.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of relevant employment law in an occupational health context.
  • Qualified/experienced in health surveillance.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages and comfortable in the use of OH software.
  • Experienced in carrying out health screening, including audiometry, spirometry, general medicals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC.
  • Typical physical demands include ability to sit, stand, or walk extensively.
