Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse Advisor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and guidance on occupational health matters to employees and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of employee fitness to work, taking into account their medical history, work environment, and job requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to protect employee health at work, including risk assessments, health surveillance, and health promotion initiatives.
  • Provide specialized advice on disability at work, including phased return to work, modification of duties, and restriction of duties.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with occupational health standards and regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on occupational health topics, including health education, health promotion, and health surveillance.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on immunization and immunity screening programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employees, management, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Registered General Nurse with a strong background in occupational health.
  • Occupational Health Nurse Certificate/Diploma or BSc in Occupational Health related subject.
  • Experience in managing a caseload or customer contract, supervising OH nursing and administrative staff, and developing health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to take responsibility in the absence of the service manager and to establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, customers, and clients.
