Senior Building Surveyor – Romford, East London / Hybrid

We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor for a reputable building consultancy located in Romford, East London. The position offers a competitive salary of up to £70,000 along with hybrid working options.

This consultancy boasts a strong portfolio of long-term clients and provides comprehensive services to both private and public sector clients. With a team of 30 professionals, they specialize in site inspections, quantity surveying, project management, and building surveying. The firm promotes a supportive work environment that prioritizes work-life balance, managing projects across London and the South East. Candidates must have a proven track record in professional services and project management within a consultancy setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full range of project and professional duties for both private and public sector clients, covering various sectors including residential, commercial, retail, education, leisure, industrial, and healthcare refurbishments.
  • Perform Fire Risk Assessments (training available).
  • Manage project work, including the preparation of tender documents and post-contract administration.
  • Work with JCT Intermediate and JCT Design and Build contracts.
  • Gather site information and produce clear, concise reports.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare reports (Schedules of Condition, Defect Diagnosis, etc.).
  • Prepare condition survey reports for planned maintenance and asset expenditure planning.
  • Draft tender documents for refurbishment and alteration projects.
  • Handle party wall surveying and dilapidations.
  • Develop specifications and schedules.
  • Provide feasibility estimates.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field.
  • MRICS or MCIOB qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Consultancy experience is essential.
  • Strong client-facing skills.
  • Experience in refurbishment and/or remedial project management.
  • Professional services experience, including condition surveys and defect diagnosis.
  • Fire Risk Assessment knowledge is advantageous (training can be provided).

What We Offer

  • Salary range of £55,000 - £70,000 (negotiable).
  • 22 days of holiday plus Christmas and Bank Holidays (increases by 1 day each year after 3 years, up to a maximum of 27 days).
