About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Tobacco Dependency Advisor to join our Public Health team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients by helping them quit smoking and improve their health.

As a key member of our inpatient wards and Emergency Department team, you will work directly with patients to assess their needs related to tobacco dependency and develop personalized treatment plans. You will provide support through various methods, including face-to-face consultations, remote sessions, and telephone calls.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral support and evidence-based treatment for patients struggling with tobacco addiction.
  • Collaborate with the Public Health team to deliver training programs on tobacco dependency and other public health issues.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the Tobacco Dependency Service, ensuring high-quality care is delivered to all patients.
  • Support the achievement of key performance indicators for the service related to tobacco cessation.
  • Manage your workload effectively and prioritize tasks based on patient needs.
  • Engage with individuals and groups from target areas to promote smoking cessation initiatives.
  • Empower patients to make informed decisions about their health and well-being, guiding them towards positive behavioral changes.
