The headquarters of SABIC UK Petrochemicals Limited is situated within the Wilton Centre, complemented by manufacturing and storage facilities at two nearby locations: Wilton International and North Tees. The Wilton International site is home to our two primary manufacturing units: Olefins 6, a significant ethylene 'cracker', and System 18, one of the largest Low-Density Polyethylene plants worldwide. Our production includes essential chemicals and materials such as ethylene and LDPE, which serve as fundamental components for various everyday products.

The role of the Logistics Operations Planner is crucial in aligning the local plant production schedule with the European Polymer Business requirements. This involves meticulous planning and execution of feedstock and product movements from the Wilton LDPE System 18 facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the detailed Production and Silo Plan for the System 18 LDPE production facility, ensuring adequate storage capacity for incoming products and maintaining sufficient stock of all grades for timely customer deliveries.
  • Oversee raw material management to ensure continuous plant operation and compliance with production specifications for planned LDPE grades, coordinating purchasing and delivery of materials as needed.
  • Assess and communicate the effects of planned production activities on logistics capabilities, providing financial implications to management.

Required Competencies

  • Proven experience in logistics operations and planning methodologies, preferably within bulk solids or plastics production, with a minimum of 3-5 years in logistics operations and planning, and an educational background of HNC or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SAP and competency in MS Office applications are essential.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, acting as the primary liaison between planning, manufacturing, and commercial functions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-loading, additional bagging runs, or container storage to ensure silo availability, directing on-site and off-site Logistics Service Providers for bulk and packed transport activities.
  • Maintain relevant reporting related to production and logistics performance, including silo utilization and stock levels.
  • Represent site logistics in weekly and bi-monthly meetings, providing performance feedback and presenting necessary data.
  • Monitor raw material usage and maintain the production Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Conduct audits of stock inventory and usage across production and logistics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
