The headquarters of SABIC UK Petrochemicals Limited is situated within the Wilton Centre, complemented by manufacturing and storage facilities across two nearby locations, at Wilton International and North Tees. The Wilton International site is home to our two primary manufacturing plants: Olefins 6, a significant ethylene 'cracker', and System 18, recognized as one of the largest Low-Density Polyethylene facilities worldwide. We produce essential chemicals and products such as ethylene and LDPE, which serve as the foundational elements for numerous everyday materials and plastics that are integral to modern life. Our North Tees site houses many logistical facilities, including various storage tanks, underground salt caverns, liquefaction plants, and jetties. SABIC currently employs over 330 full-time manufacturing staff along with more than 400 contractors, contributing £400 million to the local economy through payroll, goods, services, and utilities.

The Logistics Operations Planner for System 18 and Wilton Logistics is tasked with supporting the detailed local plant production schedule in alignment with the European Polymer Business requirements. This involves planning and executing feedstock and product movements from the Wilton LDPE System 18 plant.

Engagement and delivery through collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders are essential to fulfill the business's operational plan, adhering to SABIC's EHSS standards while ensuring comprehensive data collection and reconciliation to accurately reflect key plant performance indicators.

KEY DELIVERABLES

• Execute the detailed Production and Silo Plan for the System 18 LDPE production facility
  • Guarantee sufficient storage capacity for receiving products from the plant and ensure that an adequate stock of all grades is available in the correct configuration to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Deliver the Silo Plan through meticulous planning and scheduling, serving as the communication bridge between the UK Production Team, European Supply Chain, Operations Planning, and Logistics Service Providers for storage and distribution.
• Oversee raw materials to maintain plant operations and specifications for the planned LDPE grades.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary raw materials and packaging to execute the production plan, coordinating purchasing requirements and arranging suitable material deliveries.
• Assess and communicate the effects of planned production activities on logistics and any capacity constraints impacting production.
  • Report and review financial implications to management.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Candidates should possess experience in logistics operations along with planning and scheduling methodologies, preferably from a bulk solids or plastics production background. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in logistics operations and planning is required, along with education to HNC level or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SAP is essential for this role, alongside competence in MS Office applications.
• Strong communication skills are necessary to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, acting as the primary liaison between planning and manufacturing functions in the UK and the commercial function in Europe, while also managing purchasing relationships with suppliers and coordinating with multiple Logistics Service Providers.

PRIMARY TASKS

• Coordinate pre-loading, additional bagging runs, or container storage to ensure silo availability, directing on-site and off-site Logistics Service Providers regarding bulk and packed transport activities.
• Update relevant reporting linked to production and logistics performance monitoring, including but not limited to: silo utilization, stock status, on-site residence times (OSR), silo mass balance calculations, and scorecards for production/loading volumes.
• Act as the site logistics representative in weekly and bi-monthly meetings, providing performance feedback and presenting relevant data as necessary.
• Inform the on-site Logistics Service Provider regarding the timing for silo cleaning and maintenance, ensuring charges are agreed upon.
• Monitor plant raw material usage, highlighting any deviations from expected usage and maintaining the production Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Clarify the causes of any discrepancies or defects that may arise with partner organizations (Logistics Service Provider, Container Stack Operators, external Warehouse) and agree on rectifications.
• Conduct audits of stock inventory (both product and raw materials) and usage across production and logistics, including Logistics Service Providers, to create a Mass Balance and account for discrepancies to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain an accurate documentation trail and procedures to ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards for food consumption.
