We are increasingly focused on supporting children and adolescents with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Position Summary

We are in search of passionate SEN / SEND tutors who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners.

At Targeted Provision, our goal is to elevate the quality of educational assistance provided to at-risk youth across the UK.

We prioritize a collaborative approach, ensuring that a dedicated team surrounds each child, providing ongoing support throughout every engagement.

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND educators who are enthusiastic about delivering personalized 1:1 tutoring to children and young people with diverse learning needs. Our approach is creative, adaptable, holistic, and trauma-informed, aimed at enhancing student engagement and significantly improving their educational trajectories.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation ranging from £28 to £33 per hour (including base rate and holiday pay)
  • Flexible part-time hours tailored to your availability
  • Occasional remote work opportunities, including online teaching assignments
  • Access to extensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and upskilling resources, including the full Tes CPD suite
  • A dedicated SEN / SEND Support Team focused on ensuring successful placements for both the young person and the tutor
  • Membership in our tutor community, where best practices, resources, and insights are shared
  • A commitment to a child-centered approach, striving to improve support for vulnerable young individuals

Role Responsibilities

The SEN / SEND Tutor will be responsible for delivering instruction in subjects such as Mathematics, English, or Science to young individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs.

These students are referred to us by educational institutions and local authorities, requiring varying levels of support in their academic and social-emotional development.

If selected, your role will involve providing this support through flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.

Key Duties

  • Designing and planning each tutoring session
  • Delivering engaging and holistic sessions tailored to the individual needs of the student
  • Documenting lesson reports and providing constructive feedback on student progress

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
  • Experience working with young individuals with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (assistance available for obtaining this if necessary)
  • Two professional references

You must be located in the UK and possess the right to work in the UK, even for remote or online roles. It is essential to work in a manner that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of children and young people, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
