About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments
    • Ensure safe and effective delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments in line with national and local guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate chemotherapy pathways and ensure seamless patient care.
  • Providing Specialist Clinical Practice
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients receiving chemotherapy.
    • Conduct holistic needs assessments and provide expert advice and support to patients and their families.
  • Working Collaboratively with the MDT
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Leadership and Education
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of cancer services and policies.
    • Provide education and training to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on chemotherapy and cancer care.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • 1st level RGN qualification.
    • 1st level degree or equivalent experience.
    • Speciality related course at degree level.
    • Mentor/assessor course.
    • Completed UKONS SACT passport.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Audit experience and subsequent quality improvement.
    • Evidence of continuing professional development.
    • Sound IT skills.
    • Good record keeping.
    • Awareness of local and national guidelines.

    • Able to use own initiative and work autonomously.
