Role Overview

The Premium Kitchen Shift Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the production plating floor. This position involves supervising daily production activities, addressing challenges that arise on the production floor, and maintaining a safe and hygienic workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure production processes comply with both company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all necessary documentation to uphold regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate clear expectations to team members and assess their performance.
  • Facilitate staff training, monitor their progress, and provide ongoing support to help them reach their objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of production staff and supervisors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Indirectly manage a large group of employees.
  • Ensure that personal and team conduct aligns with business needs.
  • Implement emergency response procedures when necessary.
  • Regularly inspect machinery and checkpoints to guarantee a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Personal Hygiene Procedures at all times.
  • Maintain the highest quality and food safety standards within your shift.
  • Identify and address areas for improvement, proposing solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, including HACCP and Food Safety regulations.
  • Compile production reports and provide updates to senior management.
  • Manage the repair or replacement of malfunctioning production equipment.
  • Ensure efficient and correct use of all resources and assets.
  • Meet production schedules consistently.
  • Execute assigned tasks to ensure timely delivery of finished plating dishes.
  • Identify and control non-conformances.
  • Promote an "audit-ready" culture by understanding and implementing best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with managers from other departments regarding any issues that may affect operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 3-5 years of management experience in high-volume food service or food manufacturing.
  • Understanding of allergen management.
  • Knowledge of food safety legislation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in Flight Catering is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, Food Legislation, and Food Hygiene.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to work independently to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Skilled in building relationships and managing diverse teams.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, positive, and flexible attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in leadership roles.
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate certification in applied HACCP principles.
  • Approach challenges positively, viewing them as opportunities for personal development.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities effectively for both self and team.

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week with variable shifts.
  • Shifts may include Morning, Middle, Late, or Night as required.
