Manufacturing Operations Leader

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-On Duties (80%):

  1. Establishing and configuring production lines
  2. Conducting daily compliance assessments
  3. Overseeing loading and unloading of shipments
  4. Operating Fork Lift Truck as necessary
  5. Performing Health & Safety evaluations on machinery
  6. Ensuring Quality Control standards are met
  7. Managing the delivery area (incoming and outgoing goods)

Hands-Off Duties (20%):

  1. Coordinating staff schedules, performance reviews, and leave
  2. Overseeing temporary workforce management
  3. Managing inventory and conducting stock audits
  4. Performing facility Health & Safety inspections
  5. Handling HR responsibilities and disciplinary matters
Production Operations Management:
  1. Lead and oversee a team of production personnel and agency workers
  2. Develop and execute production timelines to satisfy customer requirements
  3. Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective measures as needed
  4. Perform Fork Truck operations when required
Machinery Repair and Maintenance:
  1. Conduct regular inspections of machinery
  2. Collaborate with maintenance staff for repairs and scheduled upkeep
  3. Set up and operate various machinery types
Training and Development:
  1. Instruct production staff on standard operating procedures and safety measures
  2. Create training materials and maintain training records
  3. Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues
Continuous Improvement:
  1. Identify and implement enhancements, cost-saving measures, and waste reduction strategies
  2. Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to refine production processes
Safety and Compliance:
  1. Ensure adherence to all safety standards and company protocols
  2. Conduct regular safety evaluations and address any identified concerns
Process Overview:
  1. Raw materials enter the facility for processing
  2. Undergoes folding and counting through a box folder
  3. Followed by banding and leaflet addition
  4. Shrink-wrapped and labeled for distribution
  5. Re-palletized and prepared for shipping
About You:
  1. Demonstrated experience in a comparable managerial position
  2. Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  3. Exceptional problem-solving skills
  4. Adaptable and flexible to changing demands
  5. Forklift license is a plus
