The Food Service Operations Supervisor will collaborate with the Key Account Manager to provide strategic oversight for the comprehensive food service across the facility, encompassing retail areas, back-of-house operations, patient dining, and private patient services.

Key Responsibilities

The Food Service Operations Supervisor will manage the daily operations of these sectors, ensuring exceptional catering services for patients, staff, and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a hygienic and secure environment while adhering to operational specifications and being responsive to service demands to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Working closely with the Retail Restaurant Chef Supervisor, Catering Manager, and culinary team to engage in effective menu planning and promotional activities, optimizing sales opportunities in alignment with the company's marketing strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and organizational policies and procedures, including infection control measures.
  • Providing leadership and support to your team, including stepping in for the Key Account Manager as necessary.

Core Duties

  • Oversee staffing and competency levels of team members throughout the food service operations.
  • Maintain accurate records for company systems, including cost management, attendance procedures, quality assessments, training, activity logs, and staff performance evaluations.
  • Engage with management staff through discussions and regular team meetings, including performance reviews and return-to-work discussions.
  • Supervise, train, motivate, and ensure the safety and well-being of staff under your supervision.
  • Organize and assign staff to deliver catering services within designated areas.
  • Ensure adherence to work schedules and quality standards as per specifications.
  • Plan, coordinate, and procure food supplies based on historical data and menu cycles.
  • Manage the ordering, control, monitoring, and distribution of food, uniforms, equipment, and materials necessary for staff to perform their duties effectively.
  • Facilitate job-related training to meet the needs of both new and existing staff, ensuring they are adequately prepared to fulfill their roles in accordance with the Training Plan.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in catering is essential.
  • Basic Food Hygiene training will be provided and must be successfully completed to undertake this role.
  • Occupational Health clearance is mandatory.
