About the Role:

Sodexo is seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to become our private catering Hospitality Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operational management of private catering events at some of Edinburgh's most prestigious venues and cultural destinations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning and Execution: Ensure all planning, operational, and kitchen service delivery functions for the applicable venue are in place and to the right standard.
  • Quality Control and Safety: Manage all quality control measures, Health & Safety, and Hygiene systems to the desired standard of Sodexo in line with the tasking allocated by each venue manager.
  • Service Offerings: Understand and articulate service offers to venue clients, customers, and the Sodexo team.
  • Service Innovation: Lead innovation and service styles that drive positive PR and positive client feedback.
  • Team Collaboration: Play an active part within the wider events team - contribute to team activities, discussions, and decisions to grow and improve the Sodexo business.
  • Financial Management: Support the applicable venue to manage financial performance including forecasting, event costing, post-event review, cost control, stock management, and monthly reconciliation.
  • Client Relationships: Adhere to all client's contractual obligations and conduct day-to-day Sodexo business in an appropriate manner and within the agreed contractual terms.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all processes with regards to the security aspects of the building, stock, personnel, and client's expectations are reached and maintained pre, during, and post events.
  • Site Inspections and Proposal Generation: On a day-to-day basis assist the Sodexo team with site inspections and proposal generation as required.
  • Teamwork and Development: Work as a team to promote harmonious working relationships within the Sodexo team and support the General and Assistant Manager with departmental development of the business, seeking out financially sustainable opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Catering Industry Knowledge: A passionate interest in the catering industry - knowledge of current trends and interest in the hospitality world.
  • High-Volume Catering Experience: Consistent demonstrable experience in a high-volume catering environment.
  • Project Delivery: Evidence of ability to create and adhere to project delivery plans.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to competently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.
