Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire

Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, flexible schedule

Compensation: £40,000 - £52,000 (based on experience)

Role Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Software Controls Engineer to engage in our Oil & Gas Storage & Distribution Sector.

Reporting directly to the Sector Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the execution and support of automation projects for our key clients.

This role encompasses the creation and modification of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software within a dynamic and rapidly changing industry. It also involves substantial customer interaction and on-site responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and adjust PLC, HMI, and SCADA software according to customer specifications and standards.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on automation solutions and optimal control system architectures.
  • Conduct site assessments and support project estimations (engineering time and materials).
Candidate Profile:
  • Strong familiarity with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems from manufacturers such as Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Aveva Wonderware, and Beijer.
  • Experience in establishing, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial networks.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematic diagrams from industrial settings.
  • Understanding of the regulatory standards applicable in the water sector.
