Our client is a prominent provider of residential childcare services, dedicated to supporting children and young individuals with learning disabilities. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join their organization and help fulfill their mission of delivering outstanding care and support.

Role Overview:

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Registered Manager to ensure that the home adheres to the regulatory standards established by The Children’s Homes England Regulations 2015 and surpasses Quality Standards. You will take on a leadership position in managing the team, ensuring high standards of care, and stepping in for the Registered Manager when required. Key Duties:
  • Leadership & Management: Assist the Registered Manager in leading and inspiring a dedicated team to provide exceptional care. Act in their absence and oversee the daily operations of the home.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young individuals, sharing responsibility for safeguarding.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home meets The Children’s Homes England Regulations 2015 and exceeds Quality Standards, complying with all relevant legislation.
  • Team Development: Support in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and the professional growth of staff. Provide leadership and guidance during shifts.
  • Quality Assurance: Regularly assess the home's performance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Direct Care: Engage directly with young individuals, supporting their development and fostering strong relationships with families and external stakeholders.
  • Crisis Management: Offer additional support to children in crisis or stressful situations, maintaining a stable and caring environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Educational Background: Ideally, you are pursuing or possess a Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience working with children and young individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behavior. Leadership experience is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Passion for Care: You are enthusiastic, diligent, and committed to delivering high-quality care to children.
  • Driving Requirements: A Full UK Driving License is mandatory.
