Role Overview:

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager to ensure that the facility adheres to the regulatory standards established by The Children's Homes England Regulations 2015 and surpasses Quality Standards. You will take on a leadership position in managing the team, ensuring high standards of care, and stepping in for the Registered Manager when necessary. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone eager to make a significant difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Management: Assist the Registered Manager in guiding and inspiring a dedicated team to provide exceptional care. Act in their absence and oversee the daily operations of the facility.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young individuals, sharing responsibility for safeguarding.
  • Compliance: Ensure the facility meets The Children's Homes England Regulations 2015 and exceeds Quality Standards, complying with all relevant legislation.
  • Team Development: Support in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and the professional growth of staff. Provide leadership and guidance during shifts.
  • Quality Assurance: Regularly assess the facility's performance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Direct Care: Engage directly with young individuals, supporting their development and fostering strong relationships with families and external stakeholders.
  • Crisis Management: Offer additional support to children in crisis or stressful situations, maintaining a stable and caring environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualifications: Ideally, you are working towards or possess a Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and young individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behavior. Leadership experience is essential.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Passion: You are enthusiastic, diligent, and passionate about delivering high-quality care to children.
  • Driving License: A Full UK Driving License is required.
