Aluminium Production Engineer

TXM Recruit is collaborating with a leading production organization specializing in aluminium manufacturing.
Role Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Aluminium Manufacturing Manager, this position entails:
- Implementing effective production processes and protocols.
- Driving productivity enhancements through project-oriented tasks, including the introduction of new products and the design of manufacturing cells aimed at minimizing waste, enhancing quality and safety, and lowering operational expenses.
- Managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring proactive measures are taken to optimize outcomes.
- Designing fixtures and tooling as necessary to guarantee repeatable processes.
- Assisting in the layout of the shop floor and the design of manufacturing cells.
- Generating production documentation, including PFMEA, control plans, and process instructions.
- Introducing and overseeing Statistical Process Control (SPC) at critical stages of the production process.
- Ensuring that product and process quality align with required specifications.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in aluminium brazing techniques, such as CAB and Vacuum, along with familiarity with materials including metals and fluxes (5 years of experience preferred).
- A solid understanding of manufacturing methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing lean tools and techniques, complemented by strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to effectively present data.
- Knowledge of business metrics management (OEE, COPQ, DLE, TAKT, Cycle Times, etc.).
- A strong team-oriented mindset.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in metallurgy or related fields.
- Familiarity with capital expenditure processes.
- 6 Sigma certification.
- Proven project management expertise.
Educational Background:
A relevant degree in manufacturing or engineering is preferred, along with qualifications such as A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or an equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification.
Experience with FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem-solving) techniques, and Poka Yoke (error-proofing) methodologies is advantageous.
Understanding of design and production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework, is essential.
