Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements, and ensuring product and process quality meets specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Implementation: Develop and implement production processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  2. Productivity Improvements: Lead project-based activities to improve productivity, including new product introduction and manufacturing cell design to reduce waste.
  3. Quality and Safety: Improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs through effective process control and optimization.
  4. Documentation and Training: Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs, generate production documentation to include PFMEA, CP, and process instructions (SWES), and provide training to production staff.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure product and process quality meets specifications through effective quality control and assurance processes.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: 5+ years of experience in aluminium brazing techniques (CAB and Vacuum) and materials, including metal and fluxes (e.g. nocolok).
  2. Education: Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree, A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.
  3. Skills: Good understanding of manufacturing processes, ability to present data effectively, and experience of FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem solving) process improvement, and Poka Yoke (error proofing) techniques.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Metallurgy or Metallurgical Experience: Experience in metallurgy or metallurgical processes.
  2. Project Management: Proven project management skills, including relevant manufacturing/engineering degree, A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.
