Job Overview

TXM Recruit is collaborating with a leading production firm in the aluminium sector.

In this role, reporting directly to the Aluminium Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of production methodologies and protocols. Your focus will be on enhancing productivity through project-driven initiatives, which include the introduction of new products and the design of manufacturing cells aimed at minimizing waste, elevating quality and safety standards, and decreasing operational expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage KPIs, ensuring proactive measures are taken to optimize performance.
  • Design and develop fixtures and tooling as necessary to achieve consistent production processes.
  • Assist in the configuration of shop floor layouts and cell designs.
  • Create production documentation, including PFMEA, CP, and process instructions (SWES).
  • Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) at critical stages of the production process.
  • Ensure that product and process quality adheres to required specifications.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in aluminium brazing techniques (CAB and Vacuum) and familiarity with materials, including metal and fluxes such as nocolok (5 years+ preferred).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing lean tools and techniques, coupled with robust problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively present data.
  • Knowledge of business metrics control (OEE, COPQ, DLE, TAKT, Cycle Times, etc.).
  • Strong team collaboration skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Background in metallurgy or metallurgical processes.
  • Experience with capital expenditure forming.
  • 6 Sigma certification.
  • Proven project management expertise.

Educational Background:

A relevant degree in manufacturing or engineering is preferred, along with qualifications such as A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or equivalent NVQ level 3 certification.

Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem-solving) methodologies, and Poka Yoke (error-proofing) techniques is essential.

Understanding of design and production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework, is crucial.
