Locum Consultant in Gastroenterology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the growing workload in general gastroenterology, with the opportunity to pursue a specialist interest in IBD, neurogastroenterology, small bowel disorders, hepatobiliary medicine, interventional endoscopy, or nutrition.
- Participate in the general gastroenterology inpatient care, organized on a rotational basis.
- Deliver high-quality care in the outpatient setting by providing general and specialist gastroenterology clinics each week.
- Contribute to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching, departmental audit, and governance.
- Work with colleagues in the gastroenterology department to deliver acute on-call services for gastroenterology and hepatology inpatients, including acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Contribute to research, teaching, and new developments within the department.
Our gastroenterology department is a large and cohesive team that provides care for all aspects of gastrointestinal disease to a large local population and receives tertiary referrals into our subspecialty services. We have two inpatient wards in the modern Bexley wing at St James's University Hospital, with excellent nursing staff and support from experienced gastrointestinal pharmacy, dietetic, and radiology colleagues.
About the RoleThis is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist for a 6-month period. The post will be based at St James's University Hospital, with opportunities to pursue a specialist interest in IBD, neurogastroenterology, small bowel disorders, hepatobiliary medicine, interventional endoscopy, or nutrition.
