About the Role:
The gastroenterology service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a national leader in the management of inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition, small bowel disorders, neurogastroenterology, and hepatobiliary medicine.
The endoscopy service is one of the largest and best equipped in the country, with well-recognised leaders in interventional endoscopy, including EUS/ERCP and EMR/ESD.
The team has close links with the transplant hepatology unit, specialist surgical departments, and is supported by a renowned team of radiologists.
As a gastroenterology consultant, you will be joining a team that has demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality, innovative care to patients across both a local and regional footprint, with strong academic links to the University of Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care by providing general and specialist gastroenterology clinics each week.
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, departmental audit, and governance.
- Facilitate and contribute to current clinical research programmes ongoing in the department.
Requirements:
- Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.
- Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
- Experience in training endoscopic skills.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), CESR, or European Community Rights.
