Locum Consultant in Gastroenterology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the growing workload in general gastroenterology, while also having the opportunity to pursue a specialist interest.
Main Responsibilities- Participate in the general gastroenterology inpatient care, organized on a rotational basis.
- Deliver high-quality care in the outpatient setting by providing general and specialist gastroenterology clinics each week.
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, departmental audit, and governance.
- Work with Consultant colleagues in other relevant site specialist teams within the CSU and across the Trust.
- Deliver acute on-call cover for gastroenterology and hepatology inpatients, including acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Contribute to research, teaching, and new developments within the department.
- Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), CESR, or European Community Rights.
- MBBS MBChb or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant higher degree (MD/PhD).
- Relevant experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
- Experience in training endoscopic skills.
- Previous attendance on Appraisal Techniques and Small Group Teaching Workshops.
- Evidence of previous research/publication record.
- Previous experience of supervising research by junior staff.
