About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As an ICA Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on defective equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to install, modify, and commission new plant equipment, and diagnose and repair faults in systems and plants.
  • Investigate plant failures and implement repairs to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the effective operation of our systems.
Requirements
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication network systems, as well as instrumentation including flow, level, pressure, and other related technologies.
  • Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs) and other starting methods for motors/pumps.
  • Qualifications in an instrumentation, control, and automation discipline, such as HNC, City and Guilds Part 2, or NVQ level 3.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces, with successful completion of relevant training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
