Join Our Team as a Control Systems Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Control Systems Technician to join our team at Thames Water. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting scheduled maintenance and addressing urgent repairs on various systems and equipment.
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team, working alongside mechanical, electrical, and operational specialists.
  • Installing, modifying, and commissioning new equipment while adhering to industry standards.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying faults in systems and plants, ensuring prompt and efficient repairs.
  • Providing expert technical guidance and support, leveraging up-to-date knowledge in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proficient in PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication networks.
  • Experience with variable speed drives and motor/pump starting methods.
  • Preferred qualifications include HNC level or equivalent in instrumentation, control, and automation.
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) certification and knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems are advantageous.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and maintain physical fitness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster teamwork.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional service with a positive and accountable attitude.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary up to £45,000 annually, based on experience and skills.

  • Standard working hours of 38 per week, Monday to Friday.
